This coming Saturday night in Shreveport, you can feast your eyes upon many stars. No, I'm not talking about a movie shoot or celebrity party, I'm talking about the objects in the sky.

The Shreveport-Bossier Astronomical Society will be hosting a Star Party on Saturday, October 8th at the Ralph A. Worley Observatory, located 8 miles south of Shreveport on Hwy. 175.

According to a post on the SBAS's Facebook page:

Saturday night, October 8 the SBAS will kick off our fall season with a star party at the Worley Observatory from 8:00 till 10:00 pm. This is a free event and is "come and go" with lots of things to see.

We will viewing Neptune, Uranus, Mars, Venus and last views of Saturn before it goes below the horizon for the season. We will have telescopes viewing many star clusters, galaxies and such in the milky way. There are some nice constellations visible too. Cygnus is over head, Cassiopeia, Cepheus, Andromeda, Triangulum and more.

New this season, we will have 8x10 astrophotography photos taken by members of the SBAS. Photos are $10.00 each. Hope you all can come out and enjoy an evening under the stars.

This is a GREAT event for the whole family, and a chance to look up into the heavens to see some amazing sights.
