As I'm sure aware by now, Seattle's purveyors of Sonic Destruction are back - with a few reunion shows last year, a new album in the works (due out in 2012), and a new tour that kicked off Saturday night in Toronto (Soundgarden headlines the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans on Halloween weekend).

The band has been on "extended hiatus" since 1997 - never officially breaking up - but the members of the band haven't become musically rusty.  Singer Chris Cornell has been busy with solo work and a few years with Audioslave, and drummer Matt Cameron has been behind the kit for Pearl Jam during Soundgarden's down time.
