Well, here we are again. 2016 is going to be a weird year for me, I've covered this before. There's one reason it will be weird that I haven't covered yet...this year, I will turn 30.

It's kind of a milestone year...like 13, 16, 18, 21...30 feels like I'm supposed to be an adult.

But, with all of the music that I truly enjoyed 10 years ago, floating back into the peripheral, due to the songs hitting the decade mark, I feel myself reconnecting with the jerk 20-year-old Alternative Rock DJ I once was. Which is kind of giving me this 'youthful kick', even if it's only mental.

Anyway. The song that I focused on tonight was the first single off the sixth album from Incubus. A song called "Ann Molly" off the album Light Grenades. A song that started fights amongst friends (seriously, I'm included here) over HOW the song title is pronounced. For reference, it's said like ANOMALY, it's a play on words.

The song checked in at #1, the third time that the band topped the chart. It was the most successful song off the album, which was the last album for the band for 5 years.

"Anna Molly" was featured in Guitar Hero video games, as well as Shaun White Showboarding. The music video was featured on TV networks that still played music, which at that time was basically Fuse, and also got a little traction in the early days of online video playing services. The video was loosely based on a 1950s Hitchcock movie.
