A Shreveport woman is accused of scalding a five month old little girl.

The police report says:
Just after 6:00 p.m. on June 16, 2015, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to University Health in the 1500 block of Kings Highway relative to an infant presented for treatment there in the Emergency Room suffering from serious burns to her legs and feet. Detectives were immediately notified and initiated a criminal investigation.

Based on information and evidence gathered during their ongoing inquiry, investigators now believe 20 year old Brushiniqua Harris was bathing the victim in scalding hot water that ultimately caused the burns. Harris faces one count of negligent injuring. The infant continues to recover and officials with the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services are investigating the matter as well.
