    It's the New Home of Our Annual Easter Event

    Each year, Townsquare Media Shreveport throws a big, family-friendly Easter event that include a massive Easter Egg hunt. This year, it's coming to Stoner Park. Dubbed Easter on the River, the free admission event features bounce houses, games for kids and 20,000+ Easter Eggs hidden across the park for kids to discover. It happens Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    It's Where the Shreveport Dog Park Will Be Located

    Shreveport will finally get its own dog park, and Stoner Park was the location chosen for it. The addition of a dog park there adds just another great element to the park.

    Its Skate Park Has MTV Roots

    Rob Dyrdek, from MTV shows "Rob and Big" and "Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory," was a big factor in the current state of Stoner Park's skate park. In 2011, the park reopened following renovations funded by The Rob Dyrdek Foundation. It was originally opened in 2006.

    Its Biking Trail Is Perfect for Beginners

    Stoner Park's mountain bike trail is a great way to get in some exercise. Since Shreveport is warm most of the year, fitness enthusiasts are able to visit the trail and work off some of our great local cuisine nearly year-round.

    There Was Once an Amphitheater in the Park

    There used to be a stage for local shows located right in Stoner Park. The Veterans Park amphitheater is no longer there, but it was a popular destination for locals and featured concerts by Stevie Ray Vaughn, Heart's Island and more.
