[UPDATE, July 9, 2015] Carlos Spann now faces additional charges. Caddo detectives have added 11 counts of forgery and one count of criminal conspiracy. Deputies say he printed counterfeit checks in the name of a fast-food restaurant for a total loss of $11,772 to several stores.


[ORIGINAL STORY, July 8, 2015]  A Shreveport man suspected of printing hundreds of counterfeit checks is now behind bars.

The Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force searched a home in the 2000 block of Sherringham Court and found electronics, printers, check stock, computers and other evidence related to printing counterfeit checks and making counterfeit IDs.

Agents arrested 37-year-old Carlos Spann and charged him with one count of criminal conspiracy and 14 forgery counts. He remains under investigation by the task force and other local law enforcement agencies.
