Bossier Parish will soon have a new Superintendent of schools.

The School Board has voted to give the job to Scott Smith who is currently an Assistant Superintendent with Bossier Schools.

Current Superintendent D.C. Machen is retiring after more than 40 years with the school system. The Board had ten applicants for the post, and narrowed the field to 3 before making the final selection.
Smith has been in education for 36 years, most of that in Bossier Schools.
Smith is excited about the challenge ahead: " my motto is inspiration, imagination and innovation. That's what Bossier Schools are all about."
Smith will join us on KEEL at 8:10 Wednesday morning.
