Look, I'm an old school Deadpool fan. There was something about Wade Wilson that made me love him from New Mutants 98 on. Since then, Deadpool has become THE BIGGEST character in the comic universe. And today, Wade met his demise at the hands of Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn.

Look, for those of you that plan on picking this book up, I'm going to leave this post VERY vague. But here are the things you need to know. Yes, this book really costs 10 bucks. Yes, it is a tough pill to swallow. But, at the end of the day, this a pretty awesome book to wrap up Posehn and Duggan's run.

Honestly, this issue (or at least the main story) is a serious mix of somber and tragic with a bit of comedy thrown in to keep the classic Deadpool fans happy. Wade is uncharacteristically lucid and focused throughout. Rarely does humor creep into his narration or his all-out war with the forces of U.L.T.I.M.A.T.U.M. Even when it does, the humor isn't overtly funny so much as it is a sad reflection of Wade's troubled mind. And it makes for an AWESOME book. What will Wade's 'death' mean for the future of the franchise? Who the hell knows with Secret Wars on the horizon, but I'll let you hash that out in the comment section.

I'm just going to leave it at that because I don't want to spoil anything for you. As far as the secondary bonus stories go, most of them are actually pretty forgettable. However the second story by Posehn and Duggan as well as the one from Acker and Blacker save the day.

So, I guess to sum this up, the book doesn't really bring a conclusion to all the story lines Duggan and Posehn have built, but the book overall is pretty damn good. The price is a little high and the bonus stories are a little lacking, but even still...this is a book any fan of Deadpool fan will want to add to their collection.
