As you know, I'm a HUGE comic nerd! I spend a lot of time at Excalibur every week checking back issues and seeing what I can find that's new and exciting. Well, on my Facebook page, I got an ad for the Brand New Bento Comic Box. Which, to put it in perspective, is a graphic novel filled loot crate for 20 bucks. How did the Bento Box stack up? Well check out my review below.

As you can see in the video, I was a little less than impressed. I think the concept is fantastic. After spending a little time with the contents, I got some decent books that I probably wouldn't have picked up otherwise. But, there was nothing in there that I was super stoked about reading.

Since the theme was crime and stuff like that, I was expecting at least one Image book. Maybe Chew or Fade Out or something like that, but I got nothing off the big 3 (Marvel, DC, Image) and the best book and the only one that I kinda got into was something I could have picked up from Excalibur for 10 bucks.

So, I guess my final review is this: the Bento Box is and up & coming company that has GREAT potential. But, after getting my first box, I'm a little disappointed. I figured this would be a solid collection of books based around a certain theme (in this case, crime and punishment), but really all I got was a collection of back stock that nobody wanted in the first place that just so happened to have a common theme.
