It seems like it's been forever, but that old Kroger building on Benton Road may finally get new owners who'll do something with it.  The building's been empty since 2015 when Kroger decided to build a new Marketplace location on Airline Highway. Brookshire's was supposed to buy the old location a couple of years ago, but that deal fell through.

The City Of Bossier City introduced an ordinance at the last city council meeting which would authorize the sale of the property to Sutherlands Express, LLC, for $1.6 million. The company then plans to inject another $3 million into the project to develop a retail shopping center that would be anchored by Planet Fitness.

A final vote on the ordinance will be taken on March 7th at the next regular meeting of the Bossier City city council.
