After a very tough season, the Northwestern State Football Program was fielding a lot of questions about the future of the program, and mainly their head coach. But it didn't take long after the end of the season for the university to make their plans clear.

Here's more on the decision from the Louisiana Radio Network:

"Despite winning only one game, Northwestern State’s Jay Thomas will return for his fifth season as the Demons Head Coach.

Northwestern State finished the 2016 season with a 1-10 record, but Demons athletic director Greg Burke says Thomas will be back for next year, which is the last year on his contract."
