The Shreveport Mudbugs topped the Topeka Roadrunners Saturday night, winning their sixth straight North American Hockey League contest. The Bugs scored five goals in the third period, breaking open a game that was tied at 2 at the second intermission and sending the sellout crowd at George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum into a frenzy.

Shreveport improved its record to 22-11-1 by taking all three weekend games from the Roadrunners. The Mudbugs are currently one point (46-45) out of second place in the NAHL's South Division, trailing Wichita Falls. Both trail Lone Star (28-8-10, currently in the top spot with 57 points.
