After what seemed like an eternal wait since the Deadpool test footage leaked out, the movie in all of its bloody glory arrived in theaters. After months and months of hype, build up, and a brilliant marketing plan...can the movie really meet expectations? To be honest, I was kind of hesitant. I've seen what Fox has done to the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Spider-Man and others. How could they not ruin this?

Well, by some miracle, they managed to make an excellent Deadpool movie. Maybe it was Ryan Reynolds' love for the character. Maybe they hired a director that got it. What I do know is that Deadpool is a 1 hour 45 minute living breathing comic book. Gratuitous violence, dirty jokes, awkward situations, 4th Wall Breaks...you name it, Deadpool has it in disgusting bucket fulls.

There were moments during the movie that I couldn't help to think to myself, 'Holy sh*t...I can't believe they put that in there' or 'Fox let them do that?!?!'. And that is the great thing about Deadpool. It is everything you expect from Deadpool but nothing you'd expect to see in a comic book movie from Fox.

They somehow managed to create a movie that is the living embodiment of one the world's most beloved adult comic book characters without sacrificing too much. Ryan Reynolds absolutely NAILED Wade Wilson/Deadpool. TJ Miller was entertaining as Weasel. And Stan Lee's cameo...when you see it, you will loose your mind!

Do I recommend Deadpool? Damn right! Hell, go see it a couple of times. Deadpool 2 has already been given the green light, but I don't know if Fox can make 2 consecutive great comic book movies. I guess only time will tell on that. Either way, enjoy this one because you are not going to see another movie quite like Deadpool until the next one hits theaters
