Death, taxes and Motorhead. Three things you can always count on in this ongoing question mark of a world. Motorhead drummer Mikkey Dee recently spoke with Artisan News about the latest in the world of Lemmy & Co. “We’re going to finish our studio album,” he said. “We have a lot of songs done already. We’re going to keep writing and recording … It’ll come out next year.”

In the meantime, there is  a new live Motorhead release due out in this October. ‘The World Is Ours Vol. 2: Anyplace Crazy As Anywhere Else‘ is the second live document from the band’s tour in support of their last studio album ‘The World Is Yours.’

In a recent interview with the Boston Phoenix, Lemmy gave his two, make that three cents on the questionable state of music in 2012. “Rock and roll will be alright,” he said, “We have to have a patch like this to appreciate the better stuff. It’s time for a new Sex Pistols.” He continued, “Fun is what it’s all about isn’t it? That’s what it should be all about. Rock and roll has forgotten that, to a large extent.”

Motorhead are currently touring as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival with Slayer, Anthrax and others from the world of loud and heavy. And what about touring Sir Klimister? “Tours are planned now like military f—ing operations. I mean, don’t let any women backstage. God almighty, the very thought sends chills down their spine. You might get sued by a rural, irate father with a shotgun in his hand, a f—ing terrible deal. I mean, we can’t have people behaving like rock stars, even if they’re rock stars.”
