Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister may not be touring this holiday season, but fans of the iconic rocker can still get their Lemmy fix this fall thanks to KnuckleBonz. The company, creators of the Rock Iconz music collectible series, have announced that they’ve partnered with Global Merchandising Services to offer a high end, limited edition collectible Lemmy statue.
The figure, which can be seen to the left, stands 9-inches tall on a wooden display base. Only 1000 of these statues will be sold and they retail for $125 direct from the Knucklebonz website. Pre-orders for the statue are currently being taken at this location. A limited number of the Lemmy Rock Iconz statues are expected to ship in December.
“Lemmy helped change the face of all rock music. Motörhead’s spark ignited speed metal and thrash forever,” says Tony Simerman, President and Creative Director of KnuckleBonz, Inc. “Our goal at KnuckleBonz is to capture Lemmy as he appears during a performance. We are long-time Motörhead fans and are particularly excited about creating his Rock Iconz statue.” True to Simerman’s word, there is great detail in this statue, all the way down to replicating a Lemmy tattoo (as can be seen in the photo below).
Motörhead just released their ‘Aftershock’ album in October. The group, who were scheduled to tour this fall, just bumped their European tour to 2014 to accommodate Lemmy while he recovers from recent health issues.
