The National Guard has been working to put up a secondary barrier under the Jimmie Davis Bridge where the water is beginning to top the retaining wall on the Shreveport side.

Residents of Allendale and the MLK neighborhoods are keeping a close eye on the water. Many are already leaving for fear of high water as the Red River is now expected to crest at 36.9ft.
