Modest Mouse Is Coming To Shreveport, And That’s A Big Deal

Later this Spring, alt rock gods Modest Mouse will be dropping into Shreveport for their first ever visit. Which is a pretty big deal, in case you didn't know.

The show will be April 28th at The Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, and promises to be a night of pure alternative rock pleasure. It's not often that a band who's pocketed two #1 alt rock singles stumbles into the Municipal Auditorium. Not to mention one of the few alt rock bands who can claim to have a Platinum selling album.

The Platinum album is of course 2004's Good News for People Who Love Bad News, which spawned the massively successful tracks "Float On", "Ocean Breathes Salty", and "World At Large". All of which have enjoyed successful runs at all forms of radio, including college radio.

For the longest time, Modest Mouse was labeled as 'college radio darlings' who where never expected to break big. But once Good News came out, all of that changed. They went from a band who was pigeonholed as a niche group, to Grammy nominees.

Once that happened, all bets were off. Modest Mouse skyrocketed to festival headliners, were being picked up in ad campaigns, and even had their music featured as theme music for shows.

The band has rocked to the beat of their own drums (even though they've had multiple drummers) since their rise to power in 2004. They've continued to grab new listeners, and new critical acclaim. Their latest album Strangers To Ourselves was a hit-and-miss from critic to critic, yet it generated another #1 song with " Lampshades On Fire"
