The 1st Annual "Acoustic-4-A-Cure" Concert went down on Thursday (5-15) at San Francisco's famed Filmore. Organized by Sammy Hagar, the guests/performers included Metallica's James Hetfield, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, Train's Patrick Monahan, Heart's Nancy Wilson and local guitar god Joe Satriani. A lot of talent for one room...

The show was sold-out, with proceeds going to support cancer research at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.

Metallica fans sat patiently through sets by Monahan and Nancy Wilson before Hetfield finally took the stage. His brief four-song set featured only two Metallica songs, "Nothing Else Matters" and "Until It Sleeps", with a cover of the Beatles "In My Life" thrown in before Billy Joe Armstrong and Joe Satriani joined him for the closer - a mashup of "Turn the Page" and Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams".
