Metallica stopped by The Tonight Show yesterday (Sept. 29) to assault host Jimmy Fallon and his studio audience with the new track “Moth Into Flame.”

With the announcement of Metallica’s 10th studio album, Hardwired… to Self-Destruct, the thrash legends began their systematic takeover of the world. Metallica have been ever present in the media, releasing the new tracks “Hardwired” and “Moth Into Flame,” while performing on The Howard Stern Show and at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City’s Central Park.

A few days after playing an intimate NYC club show at Webster Hall, Metallica took the Tonight Show stage for a performance Jimmy Fallon was especially excited to introduce. Actress Margot Robbie also gushed over Metallica during her own segment on Fallon, even placing them above Vice President Joe Biden on her personal excitement scale. “That’s mind-blowing — Metallica! Also the Vice President, but like, Metallica! That’s insane,” Margot exclaimed.

Metallica crushed “Moth Into Flame” once it came time to hit the stage. You can check out the band’s Tonight Show gig in the video above. Metallica’s Hardwired… to Self-Destruct is set to come out Nov. 18.
