Maybe it was the new energy of a new coach. Maybe it was the opponent wasn't that good. Regardless the LSU Tigers football team played this past Saturday night against Missouri the way fans had been expecting to see them play all season long.

The Tiger offense amassed more than 600 yards against Missouri. Derrius Guice , named the SEC's offensive player of the week, had a career game. He scored three touchdowns and rushed for 163 yards in the game. Does his performance mean there is going to be a controversy when star runner Leonard Fournette comes back from an ankle injury?

We all know that he's disappointed that he's not playing but whenever I come on the sideline, we're hugging, we're doing our little handshake or he's giving me some advice telling me how I did on my previous play or either drive. To me he's supportive on the sidelines, so he looks mad, I don't know where that comes from.

Those are the words of Derrius Guice as reported by the Louisiana Radio Network. When asked about Guice Interim Coach Orgeron had this to say.

He's tough as nails. He runs the ball like Warren Sapp played defense, and he has an energy about him, and he has an attitude when he strikes you that he's wanting to go through you.

Coach "O" even  compared Guice's running style to another running back that is very familiar to fans of the New Orleans Saints. During his meeting with media on Monday Orgeron compared Guice's ability to cut to former USC and Saints running back Reggie Bush.

I grew up watching Reggie Bush, I was a big fan of his and I looked up to him when I was in elementary and middle school and to hear that, me watching his film paid off.

You can expect to see a lot of Guice and Fournette ,if he's able to play, on Saturday when LSU travels to Gainesville Florida to take on a motivated and invigorated Florida Gators team. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN and kickoff is set for 11 AM Louisiana time.
