The LSU football team is back on the practice field for the first of several practices leading up to the season opener against Wisconsin on September 3rd. Coach Les Miles knows he has a lot of talent on this squad and wants to see it play out over the next month.

I wanna see the secondary play like they're capable. I wanna see the defensive front that's gonna be in my opinion the right makeup of speed and strength and I wanna see us become the kind of team that we can become. If we do that, I'm gonna be very happy and I think our team will be very happy.

LSU is considered one of the favorites to win the Southeastern Conference and make it to the College Football Playoff. They’ll need to get good play from quarterback Brandon Harris of Parkway. Miles says he likes the poise the junior brings to the field:

Confidence and preparation and being able to step on the field in the noise, understanding what's going on and relax and say, 'ok I got this'. I see him having much more of that.

Veterans on the LSU team practice in the mornings while freshman and a few of the older players will have their own practice in the afternoon hours.
