Sometimes you eat the bear. Sometimes... the bear eats you. In a night fraught with peril for school and league records , the LSU Lady Tigers softball team beat the Lady Techsters of Ruston 30-8. The game started out well enough for the Tech girls as they took the field in front of the largest home crowd ever with more than 1900 hundred Louisiana Tech fans filling the seats in hopes of watching their girls upset the highly touted and 4th ranked Lady Tigers.  Instead they were witness to carnage that pushed back the horizons. The Tigers tied a school record with 15 runs in one inning, and set a new school record with 56 total bases. They were just warming up unfortunatley. They then set about the serious work of tying SEC records for most runs scored, 30, and most home runs in a game, 7. Then, just to round off the evening with a flourish, the Tigers set a new SEC record for hits in a game with 27. The Lady Techsters were simply caught in the middle of a special night that didn't go well for them. LSU won't have much time to savor their awesomeness though. They kick off a 3 game home stand against the Aggies of Texas A&M, the pride and joy of Hooterville.
