The Kurt Cobain documentary Montage of Heck was released earlier this year, with the film's director Brett Morgen confirming that an album of Cobain solo material would also be forthcoming. The disc will be available Nov. 6 to coincide with the DVD edition of the documentary, but there's something else in the works as well.

It appears a 7" single will also be released. According to Stereogum, a pre-order link has surfaced for "And I Love Her," the home-recorded Beatles cover that debuted in the film.  Take a listen to that here. It will be backed with the original Cobain rarity "Sappy." The release date is listed as Nov. 20.

In addition to the previously unreleased music used in Montage of Heck, the soundtrack will also include a dozen more tracks. Morgen says there will also be “audio montages that Kurt Cobain created” and recordings of the artist talking between musical tracks. One of the interlude segments will reportedly be a “sketch comedy routine featuring Kurt voicing all the characters.”

Morgen was given unfettered access to the Cobain archives, listening to more than 200 hours of recordings and sifting through 107 unmarked cassettes that the singer had left behind. The director told Billboard, “[The compilation] is curated to feel as though one were sitting in Kurt’s living room watching him create over the course of an afternoon.”

Montage of Heck was well-received, and ended up with five Emmy nominations, but did not take home any trophies at last weekend's awards ceremony.
