It's probably been a while since you've heard the name Don Vito, but most of us remember the bumbling, profanity laced character from the CKY home videos, then shows Jackass and Viva La Bam.

Vincent 'Don Vito' Margera died early this morning at the age of 59.

Vito burst onto the scene through the pranks pulled on him during the Jackass years, and most notably, his vulgar unintelligible reactions to them, which often required subtitles on the screen. As his character progressed through the CKY tapes, into Jackass cuts, before becoming a focal point in the Viva La Bam series, where he even started pulling pranks on people like his nephew, Bam Margera.

In 2006, Don Vito was arrested for 'sexually assaulting a minor' over an altercation at an autograph signing. Vito was accused of groping a teenage girl. It was argued in court that Vito was playing up the bombastic character from the TV shows. He was ultimately only convicted of 2 of the 12 counts against him. He was given no prison or jail time, but placed of probation for 10 years. He was also forced to register as a sex offender. The courts way of saying this wasn't a serious crime, but technically still a crime.

The biggest blow to Vito's career was that the court barred him from portraying the Don Vito character while on probation. Which would be why you haven't heard from Don Vito in years.

Vito has been dealing with multiple organ failure, and slipped into a coma weeks ago. He passed away early this morning.
