Rumors have run wild the last few weeks regarding the future of LSU football head coach Les Miles in the wake of stunning losses to Alabama, Arkansas and Ole Miss. Could today be the last day for Les on the sidelines in Death Valley as the Tigers take on Texas A&M? Nola.com says it is:

With the thought that today might be Les' last appearance, fans, including my husband, are on their way to Baton Rouge to pay homage to one of the most winning coaches in college football. In fact, rumor has it that not only with they 'fire' Les so he can get paid out on his contract as opposed to retiring, some are saying that he'll not only stay in Baton Rouge, but that Tiger Stadium will be renamed in his honor. Only at LSU, folks, only at LSU!

I have to say, something seems fishy though. There's no way that three losses equals a new head coach in my book... even with fans as rabid as those who wear the purple and gold. I predict we'll see some new information come to light soon, including the names of a new coaching staff.

Here's more from NOLA.com:

Rumors have swirled for the past week that Miles's future was settled after losing back-to-back games to Alabama and Arkansas, and being dominated in both games. LSU made it a three-game losing streak Nov. 21 -- the school's first in 16 seasons -- with a 38-17 loss at Ole Miss.LSU athletic director Joe Alleva has declined to comment on the anonymous reports of Miles's ouster. Sources told NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune that influential boosters had put together enough money to buy out Miles's contract, which runs through 2019.Sources also said LSU is targeting former LSU offensive coordinator and current Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher. He worked two years under Miles and four under Miles's predecessor, Nick Saban. Miles's support has waned gradually in the past five years and the end came suddenly, despite a 7-0 start to the 2015 season. LSU was No. 2 in the first College Football Playoff rankings three weeks ago. The Tigers play host to Texas A&M in the season finale' at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and are qualified for a bowl game to be determined.Miles's ouster comes despite a 110-32 record at LSU, three SEC West titles, two SEC titles and the 2007 BCS national championship. The victory total is the most by any SEC school since 2005. Miles's teams three times finished ranked in the top five and five times in the top 10. He has produced 64 NFL draft picks, including 13 first-round choices.

For what it's worth Les, I'm a fan of yours. Best wishes to your and your family in your future endeavors.
