There's been a ton of speculation, but now it's confirmation.

The 2015 Independence Bowl will host the Virginia Tech Hokies against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on December 26th.

The Va Tech pick fills the ACC commitment for the Indy Bowl, but the SEC commitment will not be filled this year. Instead, Tulsa will come in from the AAC (American Athletic Conference) which used to be known as the Big East.

This will be the final game in the legendary career of Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer, who announced his retirement earlier this year. Interestingly, with Steve Spurrier's sudden retirement earlier this season, his Independence Bowl appearance with South Carolina last year will go down as his final Bowl Game. Meaning for two consecutive seasons, the Indy Bowl will host the final Bowl Games of two historic coaching careers.
