Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was a special guest on Michael Moore’s Broadway show, The Terms of My Surrender, last night (Sept. 21). During the duo’s chat, Armstrong verbally picked apart President Trump, calling him “bats—t crazy” and stating “he’s no longer the leader of the free world.”

Moore introduced Armstrong by pointing out his “long-awaited return to Broadway,” referencing Green Day’s American Idiot Broadway adaptation, which debuted in April 2010. The Bowling for Columbine director regularly surprises his audience with an interview during the show, having recently invited Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters to share the stage with him.

The discussion between Michael Moore and Billie Joe Armstrong was predictably left-wing and anti-Trump, as documented by Rolling Stone. "The first time I heard of Trump [who apparently came to American Idiot on opening night seven years ago] legitimately running for president, the first thing I thought of was fascism," Armstrong said. "I was just thinking of all the buildings he's got his name on. That type of narcissism – wow, that's not that much different from Saddam Hussein. He's bats—t crazy."

The Green Day musician added, "This isn't just a Republican that you're dealing with. He's no longer the leader of the free world. I've never seen a president that was no longer that."

Armstrong didn’t hold back against the Democrats either. "They don't have any cojones," Armstrong said. "You look at what's going on in the Democratic party, I look at some of the people talking, I'm like, I'm looking at you again?! It's a bummer.”

Moore interjected with, "I met Joe Biden, he's a nice guy.” "We don't need nice guys any more," Armstrong responded. "Nice guys finish last."

Billie and Michael even danced for the crowd backed up by some semi-nude Chippendales types, so check that out in the clip below.
