We were pretty sure Green Day would back up their upcoming album trilogy with an extensive world tour -- and now we have an idea of just how extensive that tour will be, with the band announcing an extensive run of dates that will keep them on the road at least through June 2013.

The band's North American tour kicks off Sept. 15 with a show at New York's Irving Plaza and continues more or less steadily through Feb. 8, when they'll visit the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. At present, they're scheduled to have a few months off between the Vegas show and June 1, 2013, when they head to London -- but we're pretty sure that gap in the itinerary is just there to make room for an expanded run of shows.

In the meantime, you can look forward to hearing the new Green Day records '¡Uno!,' '¡Dos!' and '¡Tré!' -- scheduled for release on Sept. 25, Nov. 13 and Jan. 15 -- and take a look at the complete tour schedule to figure out how many times you'll be able to see the band perform.
