When Loudwire spoke to Godsmack’s Sully Erna late last month, he was not willing to divulge any of the cover songs the band were planning to include on their upcoming ‘Live & Inspired’ disc, but yesterday (April 7) the first song was announced.

The band revealed that a cover of the Joe Walsh classic ‘Rocky Mountain Way’ made the short list. The band is offering up a first listen to the song on their Facebook page .

‘Live & Inspired,’ the band’s first live release, is a recording of a past Godsmack concert in Detroit, Mich. Originally the band was planning to pull live cuts from several different cities but the Detroit show went so well that they decided to pull all the tunes from just that show. Read what Sully had to say about that special show here.

While the details of the five extra cover tunes haven’t really been confirmed just yet, it appears as if they’ll be part of a bonus packaging for the live disc, but stay tuned for all the details.

Godsmack will bring their Mass Chaos tour with Staind to the 99X Fest at CenturyLink Center on April 19th with Halestorm in the support slot.  Get tickets here.

Now that we know one of the songs being covered, what other songs would you like to hear Godsmack include?
