Over the weekend I FINALLY made it to the theater to see the most anticipated film in my opinion in the past couple of years: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. If you have yet to make it to the movies to see this American adaptation of Stieg Larsson's amazing book, here's my attempt to sway you to getting off your lazy ass to go see it.

First off, I've never seen the original Swedish film, so I'm NOT going to attempt to make any comparisons to that movie. I have however, read all of the books.

I can honestly say, all excepting the end of the book (which is really just a juxtaposition of the original ending) the movie followed the book rather well.

Rooney Mara is absolutely the embodiment of Lisbeth Salander. Those piercings aren't makeup or CGI. To prove her dedication to the role, Mara really did get her nose, eyebrow, and lip pierced for the movie.

Daniel Craig is phenomenal as Mikael Blomkvist.

The movie has some really graphic parts that will make you feel uncomfortable.

You don't have to have read the books to like or be able to follow the movie.

And finally, if you are a smoker, be prepared to have one hell of a nic fit. The movie is long and the characters are almost always smoking.

Do yourself a favor and go see this awesome flick.
