Geek’d Con Guests: Azure Parsons

Geek'd Con is Shreveport's only comic con, and the biggest pop culture convention in the Ark-La-Tex. For the next couple of weeks, we're going to take some time to introduce you to some of the guests who will be joining us August 19th-21st at the Shreveport Convention Center for Geek'd Con Presented by Margaritaville Resort Casino.

Azure Parsons is a native of Louisiana, who’s made a name for herself a few different ways. Once she was the lead singer for a rock band, once she was an Astronaut's Wife, she's been a resident of Salem, and she's even been interrogated by Mathew McConaughey.

Well, at least one of those statements is really about Azure, and the rest are about her characters.

Azure recently starred as Annie Glenn in ABC's The Astronauts Wives Club, and has made her return to the TV show Salem. With a role in Salem comes some quality time in the Shreveport area, since the show is filmed locally. So Azure gets to spend time in her home state, and in our neck of the woods.

She also had a memorable role opposite Woody Harrelson and Mathew McConaughey in the first season of True Detective. She played Charmaine Boudreaux, a role that only had her on screen for a few minutes. But a tense exchange between here and McConaughey's character left a strong mark on the show.
