Charm City Devils Return To Shreveport To Rock Festapalooza II!

We just can't get enough of Baltimore's Charm City Devils here in the 'Port City, so we thought it only fitting that they play this year's Smith & Forge Hard Cider Festapalooza II! And we're glad they did! Halfway through the Fest, John Allen and crew made sure the crowd were jacked-up enough to make it through the 11 hour day! Check out some photos from their set below (courtesy of Jonathan Cooper & JC Designs), and pick up a copy of their new alb

99X Brings You Kevin Martin and Morgan Rose’s New Band ‘Le Projet’

Over the weekend, our good friend Kevin Martin of Candlebox was in town performing at our Smith & Forge Hard Cider Festapalooza II. While he was in town, over a few drinks at Fatty Arbuckles, we started talking about his new band Le Projet which features Morgan Rose from Sevendust, Adam Kury of Candlebox, and Lenny Cerzosie of the Infinite Staircase. And either the Scotch was really good or he really does like us, because Kevin was nice enough to let us be the first place ANYWHERE, to bring you their songs.

Kevin Martin & Friends Rock Festapalooza! [PHOTOS]

I think the biggest surprise of Festapalooza was Kevin Martin and his band of merry men which include Adam Kury of Candlebox, Island Styles of Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Walker Gibson and Dave Krusen from Pearl Jam. I don't think anybody really knew what to expect from Kevin, but what we got was one of the best rock shows to hit Shreveport/Bossier in a LONG time! Kevin did some Candlebox stuff, some Hiwatts stuff, and even cranked out some Pearl Jam with the help of Brett Scallions of Fuel! If you missed his set, you should probably kick your own ass with a pair of steel toe boots. Photos by JC Designs.

Scott Weiland And His MegaPhone at Festapalooza II [PHOTOS]

One of the most...let's just say disputed performance of the weekend came from the legendary Scott Weiland and his new band the Wildabouts. Opinions on his set are varied. Some folks loved it, some hated it, and some just wanted Jon Stephenson to punch the guitar player in the face to take over (I'm was a part of option number 3). Here are some shots from Scott's set. Downfall Rising Kills It at Festapalooza II [PHOTOS]

There were a lot of great bands that played at this year's Smith & Forge Festapalooza, but I think the one that really just blew everyone away was Downfall Rising. They were at the Warehouse once and we just thought they'd be kinda cool to have on the line-up since they are a bunch of kids from East Texas/South Louisiana. They just blew us away with their awesome set! Hopefully, we'll be seeing a lot more of these guys sometime in the near future. Photos by JC Designs.

I don't know about you, but we are STILL recovering from the Smith & Forge Hard Cider Festapalooza II. Thanks to each and every one of you who showed up in the heat and rocked out with us all day. Not everything was pretty and went according to plan, but, hey, that's rock and roll. We are loading up all the photos and video and stuff that we took, in the mean time, check out some of the GREAT shots you guys took from the crowd. Can't wait to do it again with you next year.
