The Best of Times hosts “2012 TBT Poker Rally” contest in August

25 fabulous prize packages with total value of over $3,500 will be awarded to the winners

At the request of its readers and radio show listeners, The Best of Times, the national award-winning monthly magazine for persons 50 and older in Northwest Louisiana, is hosting its second annual “TBT Poker Rally” contest from August 13th to August 28th in Shreveport and Bossier City area for eligible contestants from the ArkLaTex who are 35 years of age or older. There is no entry fee to be a contestant in this contest to win one of twenty-five (25) fabulous prize packages, totaling over $3,500.

A contestant will simply visit five (5) of the many featured businesses located in Shreveport and Bossier City between August 13th to August 28th to pick up sealed envelopes containing poker cards. The prize winners will be determined by the highest ranking five card poker hand.

A donation of canned good(s) in exchange for receiving each of the five playing cards at the business locations and when a contestant submits his/her entry at the judging event on August 29th is requested. These canned goods will be donated to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana. During the 2011 TBT Poker Rally, over 1,000 pounds of canned goods were donated!

A contestant will be able to mail in their entry or submit their five card poker hand entry for validation and ranking at the “Judging Event and Business Expo” between 9:00 am to 11:30 am on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 in the ballroom of DiamondJacks Casino and Resort located in Bossier City, Louisiana. Prizes for the highest poker hands will be announced beginning at 12 noon along with winners of the many door prizes. There is no admission fee for the general public to attend the event and business expo.
