A couple weeks ago, Deftones previewed their upcoming eighth album Gore, and today (Feb. 4), they have unveiled its first single “Prayers/Triangles.” Listen above.

Frontman Chino Moreno debuted the new song on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show, briefly speaking to the host about fans’ anticipation and the album’s rollout. Hear the interview and "Prayers/Triangles" below:

“[Prayers/Triangles” is] just one of those songs that I feel is very Deftones-esque, where that dynamic is there as far as the ebb and flow and those parts that go at your throat,” Moreno told Lowe. “But it also has a soothing quality to it, too, and I think that dichotomy is what makes us who we are. It’s sort of our DNA.”

Gore is due out April 8 via Warner Bros. It follows 2012’s Koi No Yokan. The band will kick off a tour in March at Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker’s annual Musink Festival. Then, they have more U.S. stops in Texas, North Carolina and Georgia. See their itinerary right here.
