The water level on Cross Lake has dipped below the 172 ft mark and that means the lake is now back open to the public. The lake was closed earlier this week by Cross Lake Patrol because of rising water.

The lake reached 172.6 feet earlier in the week, but the lake has now crested and it's on the fall. This means the Holiday in Dixie Regatta planned for this weekend will be held as scheduled.

Last month, Cross Lake crest at close to 177 feet leaving dozens of homes around the lake flooded. Many roads were also impassable. This situation has not been as critical this week. The city has also kept at least one of the gates on the lake open this week.
