BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — State officials have revoked the licenses of two early learning centers, one in Bossier City and one in Church Point.

The Louisiana Department of Education says it has terminated public funding for Treetop Learning Center in Bossier City and Noah's Ark Day Care in Church Point. Revocation letters for both businesses were issued Friday after recent inspections turned up dozens of violations of state law and determined staff at both businesses committed fraud.

The department launched an investigation last August of Treetop after receiving a complaint it had submitted fraudulent criminal background checks for three of its staff members, including the center's director.

A December inspection at Noah's Ark found children were not adequately supervised, did not have CPR and pediatric first aid certified staff, and submitted false documents.
