Beer? No brainer. Wine? Now that's classy.

I'll be completely honest, when watching football in the privacy of my own home, you can bet the farm that there will be a glass of red wine within reach. To do this at a college football game is pretty much a dream come true.

Fox Sports is reporting that the University of Texas will begin selling beer and wine at home football games beginning September 12 when they host Rice in their home opener. It's no surprise given that Athletic Director, Steve Patterson, has been all about a boozy Longhorn experience since he took over for DeLoss Dodds in 2014.

The idea had already been tested in smaller sports venues like baseball with positive results. Patterson said they will work to expand the sales into all seating areas and that during testing, the fans and staff handled the situation responsibly.

In recent seasons, other programs like West Virginia and SMU have instituted alcohol sales. In fact, 21 Division I schools implemented it last season alone. LSU has even toyed with the idea for Tiger Stadium. For the Mountaineers, this boosted their average revenue boost of around $500,000 per year, while decreasing the number of alcohol-related incidents at games.

And who knows, the addition of alcohol may ease the pain of sitting through another 6-7 Longhorn season.
