Holy wow! What a voting week this was!  Record numbers this time around, and a brand-new guy to the Homegrown poll has emerged the victor.  Congrats to Tyler Lenius from Winnsboro, Texas, who took an overwhelming majority of the votes...

Monroe, Louisiana rockers Dorian's Fall has won this week's 99X Homegrown Picks of the Week contest. The 15 year music veterans beat out two other local acts, Jessica Seven and Arkay, to earn rotation on 99X.

Some brand-new tunes - and one brand-new act to these polls - are featured this week.

After a week off for Thanksgiving, you're ready to get to voting again, right? Here's a special "Second Chance Showdown" --  three bands who were very close runners-up in their previous Homegrown Picks contests. We think they deserve another shot at 99x fame.

It's a blues/rock extravaganza this week, with a few regional guys and their bands. Be sure to vote on your favorite once a day through the end of the week. The poll closes at midnight Saturday, and the winner gets light rotation on 99X the following week. Vote away!

It's a Louisiana showdown! We're keeping it very local this week with two bands that have never before been part of the Homegrown voting and one that knows Homegrown Picks very well (now with a new singer and new recordings). Vote for your favorite once a day, and then listen for the winner to pop up in the rotation next week on the coolest rock station around, 99x!

Last week we gave Louisiana a bye in our weekly Homegrown Picks poll, instead shining the spotlight on three regional acts. Light the Fire, Deaf Angel and Jessica Seven all hail from Arkansas and Texas. But it was Fort Worth's own Deaf Angel who took the win, earning a spot in 99X rotation.

Congratulations to the Tyler, Texas, guys from Can't Kill the Ugly...they came out ahead in this week's Homegrown Picks of the Week poll. You can catch them in light rotation beginning Monday on 99x!

Congrats to our south Louisiana boys from Pandemic...they've won themselves light rotation on 99x this coming week!

So the wife and I were cleaning out clothes, as we need to get ready for winter, we don't have too much room in our place. That, and I am getting fatter by the day.

99X was at the CenturyLink Center for Sportsman's Expo all weekend long on a dangerous quest: mullet hunting. We've captured some fascinating photos of neck warmers in the wild. Check them out and vote for your favorite.
