It's never too early to start planning ahead and the organizers for the annual 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise are whetting fans appetites by unveiling the first eight performers for the early 2014 voyage. They include Fear Factory, Symphony X, Overkill, Death Angel, Soilwork, Septicflesh, Finntroll and Dark Tranquillity.

Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted's new metal band is called Newsted. Newsted's new metal EP is called 'Metal.' Now, Newsted are set to promote 'Metal' with a U.S. tour beginning April 19.

Evans will join the world's biggest AC/DC tribute show this weekend, playing with Long Way to the Top, while celebrating his original group's 40th anniversary.
There's no doubt that Metallica love Motorhead, and now there's some additional video footage to prove it. Back in 1995, the Metallica members, decked out in long black-haired wigs, took the stage at Los Angeles' Whisky-a-Go-Go to play a set of Motorhead songs in honor of Lemmy Kilmister's 50th birthday.
