How is the upcoming next-gen version of Call of Duty: Ghosts similar to the N64 classic Super Mario 64? They both have fish that swim away from you. Technology!

YouTuber SuperMarioGalazy13 points out in a funny video that Call of Duty: Ghosts developer Infinity Ward may have focused a little too much on the promise of a more-dynamic AI system in their upcoming title.

In the recent Call of Duty: Ghosts gameplay reveal trailer, the company boasts about fish that swim away from the player during underwater sequences. Turns out that sort of thing isn't quite as next-gen as they'd lead you to believe.

In Super Mario 64, which was originally released in 1996, fish also swim away from Mario whenever he gets too close.

What's next? A making-of Call of Duty: Ghosts video that talks about the game's added leaning and mantling abilities as if they're some sort of noteworthy innovation? Oh, wait.
