The DeRamus Family, stars of History's TV show "Cajun Pawn Stars," will make a special appearance at this year's Sportsman's Expo presented by MetroPCS and powered by S3 Powersports.

The DeRamus Family will be on-hand at Townsquare Media's Sportsman's Expo presented by MetroPCS all day Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 23 and 24) to talk shop with attendees, take photos and, yes, appraise your items. So if you have something historic or just plain cool squirreled away in your attic or basement, definitely bring it along with you so they can take a look!

About the Cajun Pawn Stars

The former president of the Louisiana Pawnbrokers Association, Jimmie “Big Daddy” DeRamus is hailed as a walking encyclopedia and frequently called upon across the country for his expertise. Having collected memorabilia and antiques since he was a boy, he opened this museum-like pawnshop, Silver Dollar, over 25 years ago. Big Daddy says his vast knowledge is what makes his business “the best in the USA,” as he puts it.

Married to Jimmie DeRamus for close to 40 years, Peggy has been with the shop since the day it opened and handles everything from bookkeeping to sales to pawns. She likes to say that she and Jimmie have been a team since the moment they first met. Peggy does it all and loves interacting with customers on a day-to-day basis.

Jimmie’s daughter Tammie has been in the business her whole life; she made her first $1,000 loan at the age of 9 and has seen it all since then. A very hard worker and an even tougher manager who knows how to keep the employees in line, she runs the day-to-day operations at the shop.

Jimmie’s younger brother, Johnnie, has worked at Silver Dollar for three and a half years. He considers himself a jack-of-all-trades around the shop and is also an accomplished musician and a nationally ranked pool player.
