The Bossier Sheriff's Office will graduate 25 recruits from Young Marines Class 31 tonight.

The guest speaker for the ceremony is Lt. Col. Dave Hadden, Senior Aerospace Science Instructor for Parkway High School's Air Force Junior ROTC. According to a BSO news release, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1986 and was commissioned through Officers Training School in 1989. He served as a Nuclear Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile Officer, the top maintenance officer for the largest munitions squadron in the Air Force, Munitions Squadron Commander and others.

Young Marines recruits have completed a two-week indoctrination and training schedule, learning leadership skills, physical training, teamwork, discipline and confidence-building. The program also instills the Marine Corps values of honor, courage and commitment and promotes a health, drug-free lifestyle.

The program is sponsored and administered by Sheriff Julian Whittington and commanded by Instructor Lavaro Ramey, a retired first sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Class 31 graduates at 6 p.m. at the Bossier Sheriff's Substation on Viking Drive.
