Boil Advisory Issued for Part of Bossier Parish

A water boil advisory has been issued for a portion of an unincorporated area of Bossier Parish that's on the city water system.

The advisory affects the Benton Road corridor from Wemple Road north to Cash Point Road, and includes the 2400 block of Vanceville Road, Flower Brook Road, the Colony subdivision and Maplewood Mobile Home Park.

The advisory was issued due to a 12" water main at the intersection of Vanceville and Benton that was damaged this morning during a construction project. Repairs are expected to be completed and water service restored by early this evening.

The advisory is a precautionary measure until the water can be tested by the the health department. Residents are asked to boil their water for at least one minute before consuming it. We'll let you know when the advisory is lifted.
