Man, sharks suck. Blake Lively’s Nancy is just trying to catch a few waves off a secluded beach her mom told her about. But a big fish bites a chunk out of her leg, complicating her whole Blue Crush vibe.

Since Hollywood is never going to stop making shark movies, we now have Jaume Collet-Serra‘s The ShallowsThe latest trailer finds Nancy trapped on a rock 200 feet from the shore as a shark circles her -- that's not, like, that far though, right? After the other surfers get chomped and swallowed, Nancy takes on the shark herself – probably because this movie wants to watch Blake Lively in a bathing suit fight a shark. But hey, it's still kinda cool to see a woman take on a human-eating sea creature solo.

Though The Shallows doesn’t seem to bring anything innovative or new to shark thrillers, it could be a fun and scary addition to the summer movie season. The building intensity of the trailer feels a bit reminiscent of Open Water, which was one of the most upsetting and taut shark attack films in recent years. Here’s the full synopsis:

In the taut thriller The Shallows, when Nancy (Blake Lively) is surfing on a secluded beach, she finds herself on the feeding ground of a great white shark. Though she is stranded only 200 yards from shore, survival proves to be the ultimate test of wills, requiring all of Nancy’s ingenuity, resourcefulness, and fortitude.

The Shallows opens June 24, just in time to make you think twice about that beach trip.
