Airman Alec M. Dye, who was deployed to Andersen Air Force Base, was last seen near Tarague Beach on December 1. He's part of the 2nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Barksdale.

"Airman Dye is a valued member of our team and we are heartbroken over his absence," said Col. Kristin Goodwin, 2nd Bomb Wing Commander, in a Barksdale news release. "While the search continues, our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family."

The Guam Police Department Marine Unit, U.S. Navy Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Two-Five, Guam Fire Rescue, and other agencies are searching for Dye on land and at sea. The search is expected to continue through the night, and Sector Guam is developing plans for coordinating tomorrow's efforts.

Barksdale officials say they'll give us more information about the search as it becomes available.
