Beastie Boys Release Remix EP for ‘Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win’ [AUDIO]

The Beastie Boys’ new single, ‘Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win,’ already had a nifty, Spike Jonze-directed video to its name — but the Beasties aren’t stopping there.

The venerable rap trio has just released an EP that backs the song’s single edit (featuring an appearance by Santigold) with five remixes and an a cappella version that invites fans to add their own spin to the track.

Pablo Dylan, Bob Dylan’s Teenage Grandson, Is a Rapper – Hear His First Single

If you remember when Bob Dylan’s son Jakob started the Wallflowers, prepare to feel really old, because Bob’s grandson Pablo has just released his musical debut — and he’s a rapper.

That’s right, world — say hello to 15-year-old Pablo Dylan, who lists Eminem as a major influence and calls his famous grandfather “the Jay-Z of his time.” Pablo recently released his first mixtape, ’10 Minutes,’ and if it doesn’t exactly sound like anything else in the Dylan family catalog, he expresses nothing but appreciation for its legacy.

Puddle of Mudd Covers Led Zeppelin, Elton John, and More on New Album [VIDEO]

When they entered the studio to work on songs for a follow-up to 2009′s ‘Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate,’ Puddle of Mudd had a hard time finding the inspiration for new material — so they decided just to have fun playing some of their favorite tunes by other artists.

“We were really burned out, and when we started trying to write again it just wasn’t time yet,” said guitarist Paul Phillip in a recent Billboard interview. “We had been doing (AC/DC’s) ‘TNT’ and (the Steve Miller Band’s) ‘The Joker’ and had so much fun with those that one thing led to another, and we decided to make a covers record. It was just something fun to do, and we had a blast.”

Twisted Sister Rocks Again with ‘Double Live’

A little rock ‘n’ roll attitude and a whole lot of makeup can go a long, long way. Just ask the members of Twisted Sister, who will celebrate their 40th anniversary next year — and who are gearing up for the release of a double live DVD, fittingly titled ‘Double Live: Northstage Theatre 1982 / New York Steel Benefit show 2001.’

As you’d guess from the title, ‘Double Live’ collects a pair of Twisted Sister concerts, one from the band’s early ’80s heyday, and another from a reunion performance staged by the classic lineup to benefit the families of safety workers who perished in the September 11 attacks. As the DVD press release puts it, “The reaction to Twisted Sister’s set was overwhelming and led directly to the ongoing existence of the band today.”

ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons Promises ‘Loud,’ ‘Fast’ New Album

Bush Releases New Song for Free Download

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. So what’s a new mp3 from Bush worth?

Fortunately, you don’t have to answer that question, because the band is giving away their new single, ‘All My Life,’ for free. The track, due for inclusion on the band’s upcoming album ‘The Sea of Memories,’ is being offered at the Electronic Arts website for free download.

Why EA, you ask? The partnership came about because another track from the album – which will be made available for free download on July 25 – is being featured on EA Sports’ ‘NHL 12.’ An unusual tie-in, perhaps, but when your band has been away for the better part of a decade, you’ve got to try and make a splash.

Buckcherry In Early Stages of Working on Sixth Studio Album

It was only last year that Buckcherry was rocking ‘All Night Long’ — but according to an interview the band recently conducted while in the UK for the 2011 Download Festival, they’re already at work on their next album.

“Things are coming along good, we’re having fun and we’ve got around five demos wrapped up but it’s still very early and we need to get everyone in a room and just jam,” said vocalist Josh Todd.

Michael Anthony Says Second Chickenfoot CD Is Finished

Rock supergroups have always been notorious for flaming out quickly, so when we found out Sammy Hagar was teaming up with Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony, and Chad Smith to form Chickenfoot, we knew only time would tell if they stood the test of time.

But in spite of the scheduling difficulties (and, no doubt, ego-juggling) that comes with a collaboration this size, the band has managed to defy the odds by finishing work on its second CD.

Rick Rubin Talks New Records from Metallica, Chili Peppers, ZZ Top, and More

He’s been one of the most sought-after producers in rock for 25 years — and now that he’s also co-chairman of Columbia Records, Rick Rubin is also one of the busiest, with his hands in a dizzying list of current and upcoming projects.

Rubin discussed a number of those albums during a recent Billboard interview, conducted to celebrate the huge success of Columbia artist Adele’s new album, ’21′ (which, yes, Rubin co-produced). Up next on the schedule is the latest Red Hot Chili Peppers release, which he describes as a “Red Hot Chili Peppers that you’ve never heard before.”

AC/DC Gets Its Own ‘Monopoly’
