Armadillos Could Cause Leprosy

It seems like a disease from the Middle Ages, but leprosy cases are still popping up or I should say off in Texas and Louisiana.

Researchers from the National Hansen’s Disease Clinical Center in Baton Rouge have been studying the armadillo for years in connection to leprosy.

So, if you happen to see any armadillos walking around, you probably shouldn’t go pet them. Or kiss them. Or even walk anywhere near them.

And since JESUS isn’t around to cure leprosy these days . . . it’s best not to get it.

Armadillos are one of the few animals that can carry the bacteria that cause leprosy. If you regularly handle them, or kill them and eat their meat . . . you could start having lesions and body parts falling off. So . . . um . . . don’t. I don’t think living in a leper house sounds like much fun. But hey, it could make for great Reality TV!
