Another delay for area residents waiting to find out the proposed route for I-49 inside the city of Shreveport. The Northwest Louisiana Council of Governments has delayed announcing the route proposal because the Federal Highway Administration wants more information about the properties along the route and the impact to those residents and businesses.

Mayor Ollie Tyler says she did not find out about the delay until the night before the meeting.

The I-49 Inner City Connector would connect the interstate I-220 north of the city. The panel has been studying five proposed routes:four of them run through Allendale and would displace some residents and possibly some churches. The 5th option is the "Loop it" proposal which would use the existing roads of 3132 and I-220.

A representative from Providence Engineering has told the panel they'll likely have a final recommendation on a route early 2017.
