Animania Day 1: Haughton’s Josh Martin Rules

Today was the first day of 2nd & Charles annual Animania celebration. This is the second annual version of the event, and today was a HUGE success.

Hundreds of people poured through the doors of 2nd & Charles Airline Dr. location in Bossier City. Fans of Anime (and general geek culture) were out in force to participate in the cosplay contests, buy work from local artists, and meet the anime voice actor stars who were hanging out.

Dragon Ball Z voice actors Josh Martin and Chris Rager were on hand to talk to fans, take pictures, and sign autographs all day. Martin is the voice of Majin Boo (all forms) and Rager is the voice of Hercule, or Mr. Satan if you're nasty, in the Funimation American dubs of the show. Both also voice the roles in various video games.

Josh Martin also happens to be from Haughton, La. (Proud member of the class of '93)

The pair entertained the crowds all day long, telling stories, taking pictures, and even calling fans loved ones to leave them voice mails. It was amazing to watch the joy wash over people's faces as they got to interact with their heroes.

2nd & Charles Animania will continue on tomorrow, unfortunately Martin and Rager will not be available for signings on Sunday. The day will still be full of excitement with video game tournaments, more artwork, and giveaways.
