99X Listeners Come Through For The Kids Of Providence House

Today we had a note passed to us that the kids of Providence House were in need of last minute Valentine's Day help. The email we received said they were in need of 70 boxes of cards. That's the part that really got us...and here's why.

Providence House's goal is to eliminate local homelessness. The goal is to help local families break the cycle of homelessness through building a foundation for independent living. As they often say, it's a hand up, not a hand out.

Knowing the concept of those in need, looking at what they're asking for, we felt an immediate tug to help. So we did...by letting you loose on this one.

We know that you guys, ROCK listeners, have the biggest hearts out of any music format fans. So we asked you to do your thing, and you didn't hesitate. Within minutes of our first post online, we had boxes being dropped off. Based on instinct, we started offering prizes to those who donated...but as you often do, you didn't care about that. Some even said 'no'...they simply wanted to help the kids. That's why we looked to you.
